Lydia's House of Hope is a unique and proven approach to combatting the epidemic of homelessness and generational poverty throughout the Seacoast Area.
Our unique transitional living program welcomes mothers and their children from across New England into our yearlong program that changes lives in a holistic way. What makes us unique is that our program is faith-based and highly structured. Our women are able to focus on their spiritual growth while investing their time and energy into developing life skills they desperately need, including parenting, finances, nutrition, healthy coping mechanisms, and work readiness. We offer wrap-around individual case management which gives families the tools, resources, and advocacy they need to reach their goals.
Many of our residents and their children have been born into the mind-set of day-to-day life without options, support, or hope. We want to restore their HOPE and provide a long-term solution to ending poverty and homelessness for these women and families through our program.
With the support of corporations, businesses, individuals, and our amazing community, this program has changed lives for the better!
Here is a list of our BIGGEST NEEDS for 2024!:
$5,000 - Sponsor A Room!
We are looking for a sponsor for our newly remodeled family room! Room sponsors can be individuals or businesses, and are honored with a plaque above the entrance to the room and hang there proudly for years to come!
$10,000 - Adult Learning Center Expansion!
Help us to revamp our learning center for our moms! Our plans include purchasing two new desktop computers, 3 new office chairs, install built in 'cubbies,' and hire an electrician for needed updates.
$12,000 - Sponsor a Family!
Many of our families cannot afford the required program fee that helps to cover the cost of food, lodging, supplies, utilities, and year round classes and programming. We have never and will never turn a family away due to lack of funds, thanks to our generous donors!
$20,000 - Health Insurance for Staff!
Help us to provide health insurance to our new staff! Day in and day out, our team of staff are at ground zero; working with our families in crisis. Our goal is to take care of them as they take care of our families in need.
$25,000 - A New Vehicle!
Last year, one of our vehicles was involved in an accident. Thankfully, all passengers were safe, but the vehicle was totaled. One of our donors has generously loaned a rental, but we are in desperate need of a permanent solution! Specifically, we are in need of an 8-passenger van so we can take our residents to appointments, outings and more!
